
Jes Tan is Perth-based dancer, educator and choreographer with an extensive background in performance, teaching and creative direction.
Passionate about continual growth and learning, Jes has travelled internationally to train at some of the world's most respected dance institutions, including BASE Dance Studios in London, Collab Industry in Amsterdam, YOUCANDOIT Dance Camp in Poland, and both Broadway Dance Center and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York.
Throughout her training, she has learnt from renowned artists including Kenzo Alvares, Daria Pop, Kenrick "H2O" Sandy, Dario Boatner, Daniel Wijngaarden, Daniel Asamoah, Yanis Marshall and David Cottle.
Jes is a senior teacher and choreographer at The Dance Collective and also works as a freelance artist with John Curtin College of the Arts and dance studios across Western Australia. She has played a significant role in the growth and popularity of Lyrical Fusion throughout Perth and is recognised for her ability to create work that is both technically refined and emotionally engaging.
Her choreography and performance credits include major corporate events such as the Oasis Ball & Campaign Brief Awards, St John of God Hospital Ball, WA Business RISE Awards and Toyota WA Dealer Awards. Her professional performance experience also includes JB Creative's BURST 6.0, Dream Dance Company Industry Night, and The Society's The Platform.
In 2025, Jes taught at IMI Dance Company in Sydney and recently choreographed for John Curtin College of the Arts' production of Into the Woods.
Alongside her dance career, Jes holds a Bachelor of Education and is a qualified Primary School Teacher, bringing a strong foundation in both artistic excellence and student development.
She holds her dancers to a high standard, driven by a genuine belief in their potential. Her classes are thoughtfully structured to encourage growth, leaving dancers feeling proud, inspired, and confident in their progress.
