TDC ONLINE / STUDIO
Partial studio re-open Phase 2
With Phase 2 restrictions allowing us to open our building we are able to start running our classes at 39 Winnacott Street with up to 20 participating dancers at one time.
Check our weekly timetable to see which classes are at the studio or online. Book your $10 trial now!
Our Junior Studio will remain online along with some other teen and senior classes. Our dancers and families will be emailed a schedule.
We’ve managed this far with our online classes! It won’t be long until we return to the studio for all dancers.
We are very excited to see you but at the same time must remain cautious and keep ourselves and our studio COVID SAFE. Please take the time to look at TDC’S COVD SAFE plan adhering to the government Phase 2 restrictions.
NEW ENROLMENTS – we do have some places open in classes and are taking enrolments. With Phase 2 restrictions some of these numbers are limited. Prices have returned to normal. If you are interested in a class that is full, add your name to the waitlist. When WA moves to Phase 3 we may be able to increase class numbers!
In a world of uncertainty we know one thing is for sure. Our TDC community will stay alive. We meet online each week, connect, laugh and share stories. We stretch, dance and be energised and bring that energy back to our families. We are taking our limited world and finding new possibilities.
TDC operates and makes decisions with a social conscience, responsibility and kind heart. We have dancers and family members with diabetes, cancer, respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, along with yoga attendees over 80 years old and also elderly grandparents/guardians of children.
In order to keep our most vulnerable safe, reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and take pressure away from our health system in the coming weeks to help ‘flatten the curve’, TDC made the decision to close classes as of Tuesday 17 March and re-open class via online from Monday 23 March.
Classes are delivered LIVE through an online platform which has had great success in the US. This allows you to see your teacher and fellow dancers whilst continuing to work on technique, grooves, strength and choreography in this time where we can not physically be in the studio. There is the option to ask questions and for teachers to offer feedback so classes have a personal touch.
Ideally we would love to continue working towards concert or a performance in some way and have some exciting ideas in mind. The decision may be out of our hands as venues experience restrictions of their own, however we will continue to make decision based on the health and safety of our community and keep you informed as the year progresses.
We are proud of our team who were willing to train and take on the challenge of delivering online classes to our community.
Let’s keep our TDC community connected. Let’s keep us moving. It’s what we need right now.
ABC NEWS ARTICLE
At 8:30pm on a Monday, Charisse Parnell would usually be getting ready to teach a dance class in her studio south of Perth. But this week was not an average Monday night.
Just in time for Federal Government restrictions on public gatherings amid the coronavirus spread, every class at the studio had transitioned online.
Mrs Parnell booted up her computer and taught to a sea of students looking back at her from small squares on her screen, dancing together but isolated in their own homes.
Thank you TDC for all your hard work and initiative in implementing TDC online. Everyone is struggling right now, and to do what you’ve done, and keep our dance community going, lots and lots of virtual hugs to you all.Was also wonderful to see TDC online on ABC News. Brilliant!!!

I just wanted to say a big thank you for our first on line lessons on the weekend. Miss Hannah and Miss Beth did a great job of engaging the girls in different ways. Thank you for taking the initiative to go on line to keep everyone safe in this time of uncertainty. We're really happy to be part of your dance community.

A huge thank you for your massive efforts to get our classes online!
Tonight I had Dani's class - it was so brilliant to be still able to groove with her and our class! Her class was fantastic, and has transformed the foul day I was having (it began with an hour on hold with Apple Support and that's before I got to speak to them!). I can't wait for next week!
To be able to still dance is the greatest gift you can give us in these current times, we are all so thankful for this.
