We cannot wait for these boys to return in Term 3 to share with our dancers all they have learned.

Charisse on leave Term 3

With Charisse's husband Scott on long service leave, they thought it would be a great opportunity to take their young family on a 3 month caravanning trek around Australia for the duration of Term 3. All of her classes will continue with guest teachers stepping in to work on technique and the routine Charisse has already started for concert. Special guest choreographer Bernie Bernard will give the Pre-Senior and Senior Jazz classes a real treat with an amazing musical theatre piece she will create in the 10 week duration.

We wish Charisse, Scott, Finn & Indie all the best on their travaels and we look forward to seeing Charisse back in Term 4. And good luck to Andrea who will step into Director's shoes!

Teachers leaving and joining

Founding company member Erin Tyrie is leaving in August to go on a working holiday to the UK. Sadly she leaves her Pre-Junior Hip Hop & Kidz Club and Pre-Junior Jazz classes. In her replacement we have TDC dancers Emily Collins taking on Erin's Jazz classes and Jessica Greaves working with her Pre-Junior Hip Hop class. Erin has been a member of TDC for 9 years and we will miss her lovely presence in our studio over the next year (or two). Good luck Erin. We wish you all the best and know that TDC is here to welcome you with open arms when you return.

Welcome also to Safiya Karolia, TDC member for 6 years who will be the new Junior Experienced Jazz teacher and well respected ballet dancer Deanna Greenhalgh teaching Pre-Kidz and Kidz Ballet classes on Mondays.

Your help needed to make Charisse the 2011 Australian of the Year

Dear all

It is my great privilege to advise you all that Charisse has been nominated for "Australia's Local Hero" - which is a subset of the 2011 Australian of the Year Awards. If you believe she deserves it as much as we do, here's your chance to help us strengthen our case!

Send a testimonial via email or mail to me (see below for addresses), telling YOUR personal story of how Charisse and TDC has helped you overcome difficult times or personal tragedies, and how they have helped you to become the fantastic person you are now! The more emotional and inspirational the story, the better! Please also invite your parents to write in too. I have already received a number of testimonials written by students and parents, and it has been an honour to read such amazing and moving stories.

Letters will remain private and confidential with the exception of being sent to the Australian of the Year selection panel, as well as to Charisse and the TDC instructors in due course. We all know the hard work and dedication that Charisse and the TDC team does and the positive impact they have on each and every student. This is your opportunity to let them know exactly how much of a difference they have made to your life. With your input, I am very confident we will have a strong enough submission to make the judges stop and take notice!!!

Best wishes

Fundraise your concert fees

We understand concert time can become a difficult time financially for families and have some help for those of you who need it. You can purchase a box of fundraising chocolates from reception at a cost of $48.00. $20 will go into your account as a credit. You can then sell the chocolates and receive $48 back. It's a great way to help you pay for your concert fees.
